I went to the gym last night. I hadn't been in ever so long. It was very, very good. Although I had lost a fair amount of ground and was unable to complete three sets of shoulder presses. I did do some major work on my legs, on the leg press machine in the free weight room. And some nice red haired freckly guy was nice enough to point out that I needed to take the guard off the machine to fully do the excercise without making me feel like a total loser.

On another front, I can only say well alright Rosie!

Although I am horrified by the Amendment, I am secretly delighted by the bald-faced evilness of the President and the brave acts of resistence I am hoping he will inspire. So where is everyone else?

I think maybe the theme of new york city girl has been done before, both in blogdom and, um, in other cultural media. I may have to think of something else.

So, I am taking a short break from my job as a trusty foundation officer to post my first real entry. I have started this blog as a way of writing, everyday. I have had lots of people tell me I should write. OK, not lots, but a few, and they were people that mattered, and I have never quite been able to make myself get into a disciplined habit of putting ideas into words on a regular basis. I think I could do a better job at it than I do. Plus, all the aging liberal intellectual types in my office all have blogs, so I figure I can have one too. So there.
